Black Music Anthology is an accordion book that pays homage to the contributions of Black American musicians to contemporary genres. Capturing the textured, robust, and soulful essence present across all music types, the project visually represents the rhythmic, colorful, and syncopated qualities inherent in Black music.
The anthology features a diverse range of genres, including pop, blues, jazz, house, rap, funk, rock, and country. Each genre represents a fundamental design element — including contrast, balance, emphasis, rhythm, white space, hierarchy, and repetition.
